Fleetwood Tynehead is a family oriented neighbourhood located right in the centre of Surrey surrounded by Whalley and Guildford to the north; and Newton, Cloverdale and South Surrey to the south.
The boundary of Fleetwood is from the North 96 Ave to the South 76 Ave; and the West 144 St to the East 172 St.
The geographic location of Fleetwood Tynehead is crucial as it will be one of the future hubs connecting other surrounding communities and major cities such as Langley and Vancouver.
Fleetwood is not only a family oriented area. It has many parks and schools. Like other communities, it has local malls such a Fleetwood Village Shopping Centre, and Evergreen Mall.
This neighbourhood has seen growth developing through the years. We often think that Surrey is dominated by a few ethnic groups. However, Fleetwood is quite diverse. The population from the year 2016 census is nearly 63,000 with a majority of them middle income families. Most of the population have at least university degrees and college diplomas. Household income is ranked to be the third highest out of all the 7 Surrey communities at $97,000; just behind Cloverdale and South Surrey.
Affordability of owning a single family home is still attainable. Compared to other Metro Vancouver cities, the average price of a single family home is nearly $1.5 million.
Over the past few years, the City of Surrey and its planners have been putting together a comprehensive plan to guide the growth of Fleetwood in the next 30 years. As a result of the future skytrain running along Fraser Highway, the demand for housing in Fleetwood will increase. The Fleetwood Plan will create better accessibility, employment opportunities and essential retail services for its local population.
If you are thinking about home ownership, Fleetwood does offer affordability. Whether you planning to purchase to live or for investment, Fleetwood is definitely an area you should consider.
